So I get a lot of questions...
Let me answer a few for you before you get started, and we can save each other some time! :)
Do you sell cake pops individually?
Yes and no. Every couple of months, I will do a "HOLYCRAPCAKEPOPS"
week, where I make around 50 of each flavor and will sell them
individually during that week. That gives people a chance to try my
cake pops without committing to buying a full dozen, like they would
normally have to. If you don't know if it is a HOLYCRAPCAKEPOP week or
not, shoot me a message and I'll let you know. If it isn't, the minimum
amount you can buy at a time is a dozen, since I'm not going to mess up
(and I mea MESS UP) my kitchen to make one cake pop for someone. :)
This also gives you a chance to buy, say, a dozen, and try as many flavors as you want (or as many flavors are available). I will also sell them individually if I have a few extra from an order I already fulfilled, so before you order, message me and ask if I have any leftover, I just might have what you need!
Can I order more than one flavor when it isn't the HOLYCRAPCAKEPOPS week?
If you buy less than thirty, no. (Again, I make lots of exceptions when I have a few orders I am doing at the same time, just ASK! and I can let you know if I have the supplies to do more than one flavor for you) If you buy between 30-50, I will do two flavors for you, 50+ and you get three flavors! And so on and so forth. :)
How much are your cake pops?
$1/each (for the promotion week and sometimes when I have leftovers, message me and ask about it if you aren't sure) $10/dozen and $30/fifty. If you are ordering MORE than that, shoot me a message and we will talk about prices. :) They get cheaper the more you buy.
And I'll be honest, this is the cheapest I can sell them. I honestly just baarrreellly make a profit on them normally, and then I'll deliver, which means I usually break even. BUT, I charge that much because it's something I LOVE to do, and I am trying to build up a reputation so that maybe someday, this little business can turn up in an actual building sometime. :) So support the dream and spread the word. ;) Each cake pop is one step closer to being able to do this and artwork as a career and I love it.
So, I know alot of people that make cake pops, why are yours any different?
Well, here is what I have found. There are two main recipes people use for cake pops.
1) They crumble up a cake, add a gross amount of frosting, and roll it into gooey sickly sweet balls.
2) They buy a weird warped waffle maker that cooks cake in balls that they put on a stick. (Would you normally eat a piece of dry cake covered in hardened chocolate? Why would putting it on a stick make it better?
I, however, use cake crumbles (from freshly baked cakes) and stir in a mix of milk, butter, cream cheese, sugars, and some secret ingredients to make moist balls of cake that I dip and cover with nummy things. :) Trust me, you will taste the difference. (Even if it does make the process that much harder... It's worth it. )
Why don't you just have a bakery?
I'm workin on it! That's why I promote my cake pops so much, is so that I can start a little reputation that will hopefully follow me into working on opening something a little more permanent. I also work full time, and my art and baking adds a part time job on top of that, but I promise things are moving forward. Already I have sold hundreds UPON HUNDREDS of cake pops thanks to YOUR support! How cool is that!? Helping a local business before it is even a local business. :P
